Admission by ticket only: $12 for general admission, free for Salem faculty, staff and students.

"PERSIANS" - Performed as part of UNCW's INTERNATIONAL WEEK.

"Persians" is based on the overwhelming story of a young woman who escaped the brutal Islamic Republic regime of Iran and came to America to save her life. This collaboration between Fereshteh Rostampour, Lighting Designer/Asst. Professor of Scenic & Lighting Design at UNCW, and Karola Luttringhaus, artistic director/choreographer of ALBAN ELVED DANCE COMPANY captures personal experiences in an interdisciplinary performance of stunning imagery, text, sound, movement and dance. An evening of dance, movement theatre, music and film. A collaborative project across the ages and media featuring young voices from Parkland High School and others and works by the alban elved dance company/KAROLA LUTTRINGHAUS

“SYMBOLE” is part of alban elved dance company’s fourth annual arts in education program with High Schools of Forsyth County,NC entitled “WINGSPAN”.

From the east, west, or south
, take I-40 to Business 40 to Exit 2 at the western edge of Winston-Salem. Take Silas Creek Parkway north. Pass through the first stoplight. About 1.8 miles past this light, the road makes a Y. Take the right-hand fork of the Y, also marked as an exit to Wake Forest University, proceed through the next stoplight (Reynolda Road) and enter the Wake Forest campus. After entering the campus, take the first left (Allen Easley St.), then the first right, into Parking Lot Q, behind Scales Fine Arts Center.

From the north, take US 52 to the University Parkway exit (Exit 115) and head south for approx. 2.5 miles. Exit to the right (sign says “Polo Road”). Proceed through the first traffic light (Polo Rd.) and enter the Wake Forest campus. Take the first right (Carroll Weathers Rd.) and then the first left into Parking Lot Q behind Scales Fine Arts Center. The Fine Arts Center is at the opposite (lower) end of the parking lot.

There is plenty of free parking available.

Once you are in the parking lot staff will direct you to the performance site. It is a short hike uphill. Assistance is available.
